About Everest Locksmith

A Licensed Local Locksmith, Not a Call Centre

Everest Locksmith is a mobile, BC-licensed locksmith working across Vancouver, Burnaby and Metro Vancouver, 24 hours a day. Twelve years of work in the Lower Mainland, prices published on the site rather than quoted at the door, and a licence number you can check with the province before a technician arrives.

Most locksmith numbers you find online are not locksmiths. They are lead brokers: a call centre takes your address, sells the job to whoever is nearest, and the price you were quoted on the phone has nothing to do with the invoice you get at the door. That business model is why this trade has the reputation it has.

Everest works the other way round. You speak to a locksmith when you call, you are told the total before anyone is dispatched, and the person who arrives is the person the licence belongs to.

How we work

What We Do Differently

Three things separate Everest from most of the Metro Vancouver market, and all three are checkable rather than claimed.

  • Published prices. Lockouts, rekeys, commercial cylinders and car keys are all listed with real ranges. No competitor in this market publishes a full price list.
  • A licence you can verify. Our BC security worker licence number is #B7554, printed on the site and checkable with the province in about a minute.
  • Non-destructive entry first. Standard cylinders are picked or bypassed, not drilled. Drilling turns a service call into a service call plus a new lock, and it is the most common way customers get overcharged.
  • One price list across the whole service area. Downtown, Surrey, the North Shore or Langley, the rate is the same. There is no postcode surcharge.
  • Everything happens from the van. Keys are cut and cylinders re-pinned at your door, so most jobs finish in a single visit.
  • A one-year warranty on parts and labour. If a cylinder or strike we fitted binds inside 365 days, we come back and correct it at no charge.

None of that is a slogan. Every item on the list is something you can hold us to on the phone before you agree to anything.

Licensed & insured in British Columbia

Licensed, Insured and Accountable

Locksmiths in British Columbia must hold a security worker licence under the Security Services Act, issued by the Security Programs Division. It is not a formality: the licence requires a Locksmith Certificate of Qualification or documented supervised experience, plus fingerprinting and a criminal record check.

  1. Every Everest technician holds a current BC security worker licence and carries the card on every call.
  2. The licence number is published on this site, not produced on request. Check it before we arrive.
  3. We carry liability insurance, and a certificate of insurance is issued on request before attendance.
  4. WorkSafeBC coverage is in place, which matters to any strata council or property manager doing due diligence.
  5. Identification is shown at the door before work starts, every time, without being asked.

More detail, including how to run the check yourself, is on our licensed and insured page. You can also check any BC security worker licence on the provincial verification tool directly.

The people who turn up

The Team Behind the Van

Named, licensed technicians who live and work in the Lower Mainland.

Real people, real licences

Who You Are Letting Through Your Door

Letting a stranger open your door is a genuine act of trust, and it is worth knowing who you are dealing with. Everest technicians are BC-licensed, carry photo identification and a security worker licence card, arrive in marked vehicles and are based in the Lower Mainland rather than dispatched from another province.

Every technician on the team has come through the provincial licensing route: either a Locksmith Certificate of Qualification or documented supervised experience, with fingerprinting and a criminal record check on file. That is the minimum standard to work legally in British Columbia, and it is a standard a surprising number of the numbers you find online do not meet.

If a locksmith cannot produce a licence card at your door, that is your answer. Ask before work starts, not after.

What Our Customers Say

Locked myself out at about 11pm and someone was at my door quickly. He showed me his licence before he started, quoted $145 on the phone and that is exactly what I paid. Picked it open, no damage to the lock or the door at all.

We manage a 40-unit strata and Everest rekeyed all the common areas onto a restricted keyway. Worked evenings so residents were not disrupted, handed us an actual key register at the end, and invoiced our management company directly. Very easy to deal with.

Lost the only key to my car. Dealership wanted to tow it and quoted over $600 with a four day wait. Everest came to the parking lot, cut and programmed a new smart key on the spot for $260. Took about 40 minutes.

Had every exterior door rekeyed the day we took possession. Four doors all keyed to one key, which I did not know was even an option. Quoted per cylinder up front, arrived when they said, done in just over an hour.

ABOUT US

Questions About Everest Locksmith

Who we are, how we are licensed and how we price.

Everest Locksmith has twelve years of locksmithing behind it in British Columbia and the Lower Mainland, covering emergency lockouts, residential rekeying, commercial and strata systems and automotive keys. The Metro Vancouver operation runs as a fully mobile service with no storefront to visit.

An actual locksmith. When you call, a locksmith answers and quotes the job, and a BC-licensed technician from the same company arrives. Many locksmith numbers online belong to lead brokers who sell your address on to whoever is nearest, which is why the price quoted often bears no relation to the invoice.

Everest is based in Vancouver at 55 W Broadway and works across Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, the North Shore, New Westminster, the Tri-Cities, Surrey, Delta, Langley, White Rock and UBC. Travel inside that service area is included in the quoted price, with no postcode surcharge.

Because the single most common complaint about this trade is a quote that changes at the door. Publishing real ranges removes that entirely: you can compare us before you call and hold us to the number afterwards. It is also the reason our invoice matches our quote.

Yes. Every technician holds a BC security worker licence under the Security Services Act, which requires a Locksmith Certificate of Qualification or documented supervised experience, fingerprinting and a criminal record check. Everest also carries liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage, with a certificate of insurance available on request.

Everything we fit carries a one-year warranty on parts and labour. If a cylinder binds, a strike sticks or a key stops turning cleanly within 365 days of the visit, call us and we return and correct it at no charge.
